MP and Grace Cares celebrate St George’s Day at 10 Downing Street

Hannah Montgomery – Grace Cares and Dave Robertson – Member of Parliament

Dave Robertson – the MP for Lichfield, Burntwood and the surrounding villages – joined award-winning local not-for-profit Grace Cares at 10 Downing Street on Tuesday (April 22nd) for a reception to mark St George’s Day.

The event, to celebrate England’s patron saint, shone a light on the country’s community spirit – and the way that organisations like Grace Cares support people across England.

Grace Cares was invited in recognition of its innovative and environmentally friendly approach to helping people who need care or work within health and social care.

The non-profit refurbishes and resells used care equipment – from zimmer frames to adjustable beds – at less than half the original price.

To date, Grace Cares has saved over 2,000 items from landfill and helped more than 1,500 people nationwide to access the equipment they need in a greener, more affordable way.

Dave Robertson, Member of Parliament said:

“It was a pleasure to invite Hannah from Grace Cares to a celebration of St George’s Day at Number 10″

Grace Cares reinvests profits from their sales to fund monthly care-focused and sustainable events, such as tea parties and kindness rock painting for older people. They also offer hardship grants and support for care workers and older people across the country.

Hannah Montgomery, Marketing, Sustainability and Care Lead at Grace Cares, said:

“At Grace Cares, we’re honoured to support those working on the front line by making care more sustainable, affordable, and kind”
