Spreading Christmas Cheer: Helen’s Exciting Volunteering Journey at Scopet

Helen absolutely loves her role at Scope, especially during the festive Christmas season! She’s thrilled to get stuck into preparing and organising all the wonderful items for sale, from creating stunning shop displays to putting together special Christmas gift bags brimming with candles, books, and more. She’s particularly excited about handpicking the perfect items for these bags, making them extra special. One of the best parts for Helen is seeing the joy on customers’ faces as they buy the things she’s helped create. Volunteering at this time of year is an incredibly rewarding experience, and Helen is full of energy as she works alongside her amazing team to make the holiday season truly magical!

Robert’s Volunteering at Bay Search & Rescue

Robert is absolutely thriving in his role at Bay Search & Rescue, where he eagerly jumps into a range of exciting tasks, from sorting and organising items to managing the shop’s sales floor. His cheerful attitude and willingness to lend a hand make him an invaluable part of the team. He loves running the till, chatting with customers, and handling sales, showcasing his natural gift for customer service. One of Robert’s favourite jobs is organising and labelling clothing, ensuring everything is easy to find for customers. Volunteering fills him with joy, and he gets a real kick out of working with his team and seeing customers leave with big smiles and their perfect purchases!

He dives into the hands-on skills he’s mastering, from wallpapering and joinery to PAT testing, all while studying property maintenance at Kendall College. George can’t hide his excitement about the programme, as each day brings new challenges and skills to learn. He also raves about the amazing support and camaraderie at Community Works, where the staff and fellow participants make every moment enjoyable and motivating. With a newfound passion for property maintenance, George is eager to forge ahead in his career and encourages others to take the leap into this exciting field!
