Not-for-profit quality care for over 25 years

Day 4

Today we have two more inspiring stories of care from members

Brendoncare 40th Anniversary Single

In February – Valentine’s Day to be precise, Brendoncare celebrated its 40th anniversary. So to celebrate, we decided to record a cover version of Stevie Wonder’s classic “I Just Called To Say I Love You.”

The song, one of the biggest global hits of 1984, was chosen because of the anniversary date and was released that day.

It also beautifully sums up the all work that Brendoncare does both in its care homes, making a difference every day to our residents, and through its community services. They include telephone support for older people who may be feeling lonely and isolated.

The heart-warming video encapsulates all aspects of Brendoncare’s work – and shows our residents, club members, colleagues and volunteers having a fantastic time recording it.

The single is still available on Bandcamp and via Brendoncare’s website with all donations helping us continue our work in our anniversary year.

Mary had a little Lamb

A special moment at Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill! During a poetry session, resident Kathleen McGowan amazed everyone by reciting her own version of “Mary Had A Little Lamb”. Her creativity and joy brought big smiles all around!
