Day 12
Today we have two inspiring stories of care from our members
Andy’s Transformative Journey at GreenSquareAccord
Andy lives in Furlong House, one of GreenSquareAccord’s (GSA) Extra Care Services in the West Midlands. Andy is very proud to live in Furlong House.
He used to live in Devon and was married with two children but unfortunately, his marriage broke down, he lost his children, and his brother died. In Andy’s words his life: “fell apart and he hit the bottle big time”, becoming an alcoholic.
Andy came back to the West Midlands for help and support, and he was initially sofa surfing. He had nowhere to go, he was drinking, and he thought “nobody can save me.”
Andy’s social worker put him in touch with GSA and he’s not looked back since. In Andy’s words: “GSA saved my life. They are amazing and their people have made me happy because of the love and care I have received.”
How Herts at Home Made a Difference: A Heartwarming Story of Care and Support
If you’re looking for compassionate home care, check out this heartwarming story! This video shares the journey of a mother who faced a stroke and cancer diagnosis, which affected her mobility. After 28 days of rehab, her return home was tough without enough physiotherapy, but Herts at Home stepped in to make all the difference! With their help, she got the equipment and support she needed to feel safe and comfortable at home. The caregivers not only provided physical care but also built a strong, supportive bond with her, offering friendly check-ins and emotional support. Looking back, the family is grateful for how important a caring, supportive home environment is for their mom’s comfort and independence.
