Belong is an award winning and innovative not-for-profit organisation based in the North West that is trying to help redefine care services for older people. The organisation runs eight community focused care villages, each of which provides a range of care, housing and support options, as well as extensive communal amenities that are also open to the public. These include bistros, hair salons, specialist gyms and entertainment venues with licensed bars.

Belong also runs homecare services, with each village operating as a hub. Our residents live in small ‘households’ with modern open plan layouts, each having its own kitchen and communal living spaces. Belong also specialises in dementia care and employs specialist Admiral Nurses in conjunction with Dementia UK.

Martin combines extensive experience in specialist dementia and nursing services with a passion for a team approach to care and a strong belief that older people should be enabled to be active participants in their communities and in control of the support they receive.

Prior to joining Belong, Martin spent a decade at Norse Care, another NCF member, where, as Chief Operating Officer, he oversaw a portfolio of 36 care homes and housing schemes, always placing people at the heart of operations.
